What’s In Allison Janney’s Bag?
On August 16th, 2019 I sat down with Allison Janney at Sweetsalt Cafe in Toluca Lake, CA for a 2-hour interview on her style & fashion. In addition to the full article (linked separately on the site-Exclusives tab), here’s some fun bonus content: Allison's candid & spontaneous purse dump!
Midway through our chat, Allison begins digging into her Louis Vuitton 'Neverfull' Fragonard bag from the Jeff Koons Masters Collection. When I ask why she chose this particular print, Allison's answer is very matter-of-fact: "Why not!? It has a dog on it!"
Inside the bag, Allison searches for a bottle of OPI “Dance Party Teal Dawn” nail polish so she can touch up her manicure before the evening’s MOM taping. The polish is missing, but other beauty products & related goodies abound. I see an opportunity for a Purse Dump piece. "Allison, can I take pics of you doing this? So people can see what’s in your bag?" She's game.
“Yes. OK. So here's my script for MOM this evening, my lines I still don't know for later. Let's see what else I got in here. Well, shit. That's a mess in there. This is a shitshow."
It really isn't, but Allison sure as hell makes me laugh as she pulls out products, narrating each for me:

Last but by no means least, Allison fishes out a chain necklace with a charm on it: a diamond-encrusted hand giving the middle finger. If this is not the most on-brand thing for Allison Janney to randomly have in her bag, I don't know what is. Allison tells me she found it on the Instagram page of Jessica Kagan Cushman. The necklace is known as "The Bird" and it comes in various finishes, sizes, and price points over on Ms. Kagan Cushman’s website.
