The Diplomat Seasons 1-3 Now Streaming on Netflix
Season 4 to Return in 2026
Allison Janney made a commanding entrance into The Diplomat as Vice President Grace Penn - a role that quickly became one of the series’ most talked-about additions. Her performance earned widespread acclaim and major awards recognition, including nominations for the 2026 Critics Choice Award and the 2025 SAG, Critics Choice, and Golden Globe Awards.
Allison first appeared in Season 2, which premiered on Netflix on October 31, 2024, in Episodes 5 and 6. She returned in Season 3 for Episodes 1, 3, 6, and 8, bringing new layers of political tension, mystery, and authority to the series. In January 2025, it was announced that Bradley Whitford would play Grace Penn’s husband: a casting choice that delighted fans with a mini-West Wing reunion.
After her standout Season 3 arc, Allison was promoted to series regular for Season 4. The new season is scheduled to film between October 2025 and June 2026.
